CANCELLED - Region D Softball Skills & Teams
This event has been cancelled due to fields being flooded and deemed unplayable. Softball competition for Parks & Agencies both skills and team play.
What IsSoftball?
Slow pitch softball involves teams of 10 athletes each. Individuals who wish to play softball but do not have a team can participate in Individual Skills Competition to develop basic softball skills.
As in all Special Olympics sports, athletes are grouped into competition divisions according to ability level, age and gender when appropriate.
Teams or individuals in Illinois who participate in softball compete locally at Region Qualifying events. Gold medal winners are eligible to advance to the State Softball Championship held in Springfield in September.

Volunteer Information
All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and lunch. Volunteer duties include scorekeeping, timing, assisting with the awards ceremony, and handing out lunch. Volunteers do not need to have specific knowledge to attend this event. Please note that the end time may vary based on how quickly we get through the schedule. The competition will not end until all athletes have competed and been awarded. We hope to see you there!
