2026 Bowling Competition at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights

What Is Bowling?

Bowling is perhaps the most popular sport in Illinois. Bowling competition is conducted using a traditional format. However for those of lower ability or with physical disabilities, bowling has been modified by utilizing a ramp on the approach.

 

As in all Special Olympics sports, athletes are grouped into competition divisions according to ability level, age and gender when appropriate.

  • Doubles Competition

  • Team Competition

  • Unified Doubles

  • Unified Teams
  • Player Development Model (PDM)
  • Ramp singles (ramp bowlers may also enter doubles and team competition as part of a traditional team)

 

 

Volunteer Details: 

 All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and a lunch. Volunteer duties include lane assistant, lane supervisor, help with the awards ceremony. selling souvenirs and handing out lunch. Volunteers do not need to have bowling specific knowledge to attend this event. Please note that the end time may vary based on how quickly we get through the schedule. The competition will not end until all athletes have competed and been awarded. We hope to see you there!
