Region C Northeast Sectional Bowling
2025 Region C Northeast Sectional Bowling at Stardust Bowl on Sunday, October 26th
What is Bowling?
Bowling is perhaps the most popular sport in Illinois. Bowling competition is conducted using a traditional format. However for those of lower ability or with physical disabilities, bowling has been modified by utilizing a ramp on the approach.
As in all Special Olympics sports, athletes are grouped into competition divisions according to ability level, age and gender when appropriate.
Athletes in Illinois who participate in bowling compete locally at Region Qualifying events. Golf medal winners are then eligible to advance to the Sectional Qualifying competition. Gold medal winners are then eligible to advance to the State Bowling Championships held in Decatur in December.
Volunteers
All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and a lunch. Volunteer duties include scorekeeping, lane attending, assisting with the awards ceremony and handing out lunch. Volunteers do not need to have bowling specific knowledge to attend this event. All volunteers will receive training for their specific roles prior to the competition. Please note that the end time may vary based on how quickly we get through the schedule. The competition will not end until all athletes have competed and been awarded. We hope to see you there!
