Region C Volleyball

Region C Volleyball is the qualifying event for Fall Games in October.

What is Volleyball?

Volleyball provides the opportunity for athletes to learn the sports skills of the game as well as working with others. Individuals who wish to participate in volleyball can compete in Individual Skills Competition to develop basic volleyball skills. Athletes also have the opportunity to compete with their non-disables peers on teams in Unified volleyball.

As in all Special Olympics Sports, athletes are grouped into competition divisions according to ability level, age and gender when appropriate.

Individuals and teams in Illinois who participate in volleyball compete locally at Region Qualifying events. They are then eligible to advance to State Championships at the Fall Games held in Rockford in October.

Volunteers

All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and a lunch. Volunteer duties include scorekeeping, assisting with the awards ceremony and handing out lunch. Volunteers do not need to have volleyball specific knowledge to attend this event. All volunteers will receive training for their specific roles prior to the competition. Please note that the end time may vary based on how quickly we get through the schedule. The competition will not end until all athletes have competed and been awarded. We hope to see you there!
