Region H Soccer Teams & Skills Competition

See our athletes in action as they compete in Team and Individual Skills Competition at Glenwood High School in Chatham!

This event will be held at Glenwood High School located at 1501 Plummer Blvd, Chatham, IL 62629.

What Is Soccer Teams and Skills Competition?

Soccer (aka football) is the world’s most popular sport! Athletes have the opportunity to compete on teams of 7 including a goalie, as well as in Individual Skills Competition which develops basic soccer skills. As in all Special Olympics sports, athletes are grouped into competition divisions according to ability level, age and gender when appropriate. Athletes in Illinois who participate in Soccer compete locally in Region Qualifying events. Top finishers are then eligible to advance to state championships at the Summer Games held in Normal in June.

Competition Information

Registration and check-in will begin at 8:15 am. Opening Ceremonies will begin immediately following the first round of 9am games. For rules regarding all Special Olympics Competitions and Sports, click here
