2026 Area 9 Basketball Competition
The Area 9 Basketball Competition will be held on March 7th, hosted by Graham High School.
Volunteering with Special Olympics Texas is a fun, family-friendly experience! Bring your kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews—the whole crew—and help create a world-class competition experience for our athletes.
Please note: anyone under 15 must be accompanied by an adult while volunteering.
First time volunteering and not sure what to expect? Here’s what you need to know:
Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled shift for check-in, instructions, and your volunteer assignment.
We’ll provide water, but it’s always a good idea to bring your own bottle just in case.
Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. If possible, wear a shirt that represents your organization in case volunteer shirts aren’t available.
Want to get more involved?
Consider joining a Games Management Team (GMT), our Young Professionals Board, Resource Board, or becoming a Class A Volunteer! For more details, contact Wade Wilcox at wwilcox@sotx.org.
We’ll send updates closer to the event if there are any changes in the schedule or location due to weather.
We can’t wait to see you at the event—thank you for helping make it a success!
