2026 State Winter Games
Keep scrolling to see available shifts. Here is some general information. Special Olympics New York athletes and coaches will visit Rochester in February to compete in the 2026 State Winter Games. From Opening Ceremonies Friday night to thrilling competition in 7 sports Saturday, State Winter Games is an event you won’t want to miss! Sports include Alpine Skiing & Snowboarding, Cross Country Skiing, Figure Skating, Floorball, Gymnastics and Snowshoeing.

Helpful Hints

Lunch is not provided- please bring a bag lunch with you.
Outside events will occur regardless of the weather, so please dress accordingly.
Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age; those 13 through 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Sometimes our sport competitions can end earlier or later than originally scheduled. Please plan to be flexible.
Saturday competition: don't leave, we need you! Not sure where to go or want more to do? Make sure to check back with the Venue Captain or volunteer check-in to see where the needs are. We do our best to utilize all effectively and appreciate your help with this process!
Please stay until the end of your volunteer shift.
Please keep in mind that in some cases your assignment may change and you may be placed in an assignment that is best suited to the athletes' needs.
Alpine Skiing & Snowboarding volunteers: In addition to signing up for the shift, please fill out this form. Estimated time to complete: less than 5 minutes.
Optional Swag: A long-sleeve volunteer shirt is available for optional purchase to support our Winter Games. Order by Wednesday, January 28th to receive it in time for volunteering. Here's the link to the online store. Health Screening volunteers receive health specific shirts.
