Role: Healthy Athletes - Opening Eyes - 6/5/2026 1:00:00 PM
Description: Opening Eyes (vision) A global partnership between Special Olympics and Lions Club International, an organization dedicated to global blindness prevention for more than 80 years, brings vision screenings to athletes worldwide. At Opening Eyes events, Special Olympics athletes receive extensive vision and eye health tests; refraction for those requiring further screening; prescription eyeglasses, if needed; prescription protective sports eyewear, if appropriate; and referral for follow-up care. Volunteers needed: Optometrists, Ophthalmologists, Opticians, Optical Technicians and OD Students.

Parking: Parking will be available at multiple locations: Stadium West parking lot, off of Park Avenue Jordan East parking lot, which can be accessed off of Porter Road
Where to Go: Once you park, please head to our Volunteer Registration tent, which is located on the corner of University Drive and Curtin Road (underneath the Bryce Jordan Center marquee). Once you check in, you'll be directed to the venue where you will be volunteering.

What to Bring: We strongly recommend that you do not bring personal items. If you choose to, please make sure that they can be secured on your person. Water will be provided at the venues, but we encourage volunteers to bring their own water as well.
