Healthy Athletes : Health Promotion - 12:00 PM UTC
Description:
Volunteers will assist with duties such as athlete registration, station setup/breakdown and working with the Clinical Director to fulfill station requirements including performing blood pressure/height/weight screenings, recording findings and distributing information.
Screenings will include taking blood pressure and body mass index (BMI). Its goals include encouraging and enhancing healthy behaviors and improving self-efficacy and self-advocacy.
To perform screenings, volunteers should be students or license professionals in the following fields: RD, RN, BSN, DTR, CHES, PA, MD, PT, EMT, kinesiology, chiropractor or have a teaching certificate in a health-related field. Medical students of many different focuses are usually a great match to assist.
Volunteers should be flexible and prepared to be on their feet for the duration of the screening process.
