Role: Swimming General Volunteer Shift #2 - 9/12/2026 6:00:00 PM
Description:  Volunteers support the safe and successful operation of a Special Olympics swimming competition by assisting event staff, coaches, and athletes throughout the event. Responsibilities may include helping with deck setup, timing races, managing heat sheets, guiding athletes to the correct lanes, or assisting with staging and awards. Volunteers help ensure events run smoothly, safely, and on schedule. This role requires attentiveness, flexibility, and a positive, encouraging attitude. No prior swimming or officiating experience is required, as training and on-site guidance will be provided.
Parking: Park anywhere available at the Armed Services YMCA or the public park next door.
Where to Go: Volunteer Check-In All volunteers are required to check in online before the event and again in person upon arrival at the competition. Volunteers should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled shift to allow time for parking and check-in before their shift begins. Check in at the venue will be noted by either a feather flag that states "Volunteer Check-In" or by a 10x10 Tent that says "Volunteer Check-In"
What to Bring: Personal Belongings Please note that secure storage will not be available for personal belongings. Volunteers are encouraged to bring only essential items, such as their keys, cell phone, and a water bottle, to their volunteer shift.
