State - 2026 Summer Games - Healthy Athletes

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2026 Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games Healthy Athletes event to be held in Normal, IL June 12th - 13th 2026.

Healthy Athletes® is a Special Olympics program that provides free health screenings in a fun, welcoming environment that removes the anxiety people with intellectual disabilities (ID) often experience when faced with a visit to the doctor or dentist. Led by clinician volunteers, we will be offering Healthy Hearing, Opening Eyes, Special Smiles, and FunFitness on Friday June 13 from 11:00a-4:00p and Saturday June 14 from 8:30a-3:30p. 

Facility Information: We are located at the Redbird Arena, lower level (ramp entrance).      232 W College Ave, Normal, IL 61761

We will also offer health education stations for athletes, coaches, and community members led by day-of volunteers and Health Messengers.

This session will cover everything you need to know to plan a successful and enjoyable weekend. We’ll walk through the sports being offered, provide an overview of competition venues, and highlight activities and experiences available outside of competition. You’ll also hear tips on how to make the most of your time on-site—Whether this is your first time attending or you’re a seasoned veteran, come ready to learn, ask questions, and get excited for a memorable Summer Games experience!
